Growlers Beer Bistro - Craft Brews and Comfort Foods

There are new owners at Growlers Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe and they are combining the best craft beer and comfort foods, giving you the best of both worlds. Located inside a renovated 1906 powerhouse Metro-North building, along with a updated gastropub menu and an impressive list of ever changing daily specials, a new façade is also in the works.

Operating partner is Joe Boscia, who worked for Restaurant Depot and has over 20 years of experience with wholesale food concerns in the tri-state area. During this period, he moonlighted as a bartender, and did stints at a couple of restaurants in the county. He enjoyed the interaction with the public and set his sights on bar & grill of his own. He has partnered with Ron Eletto, an accountant by trade, who had also been involved with restaurants in the past. Both foster a friendly, inviting atmosphere.

Growlers, founded in 2011, serves an ever-changing roster of international craft brews in a rustic 65- seat industrial space with concrete floors, walls, and steel girders. There is a busy cocktail bar, hi-top tables and a rear room with banquette seating. Growler bottles and jugs line the walls and ceiling. On occasion, you can hear the railroad train whistle its way past.

There are 20 taps on hand daily, and Cicerone Certified servers who are knowledgeable about their craft. A fine selection of wines and craft cocktails are also available. The eclectic gastropub kitchen menu is especially designed to pair well with the brews.

Great starters: New York Style Fresh Baked Pretzel served with choice of dipping sauces; Hot Artichoke Spread, served with bread crisps; fantastic Wings; Personal Pizzas, and Nachos with all the fixins’.

Bowls and fresh Salads include: Beef Chili topped with cheddar; Caesar Salad; Mac ‘N Cheese, with choice of buffalo chicken, or bacon; and Arugula Salad, with goat cheese, roasted red peppers, balsamic vinaigrette. Supplements to the salads include: chicken, grilled shrimp, or salmon.
