El Primo Brings Lush Latin Spirits & Cuisine to White Plains!

Dynamic host Daniel Cahill along with partners Rory Dolan and Declan Rainsford, owners of El Primo in White Plains, have created a hotspot focusing on elevated Latin American cuisine.
Daniel Cahill had previously been a proprietor of The Blind Pig and OMC in White Plains. Rory Dolan is the founder and owner of the popular Rory Dolan’s in Yonkers.
When you enter, the sprawling Agave bar sparkles. The dramatic 200-seat dining room and artsy bar are highlighted with pink curved banquets and light wood high tops leading to a semi-private dining room in the rear. Graphic floor tiles and inviting pastel colors enhance throughout.
Cahill, a master mixologist, prides himself on his curated Agave collection. Special Agave flights are available, as are a variety of signature cocktails. Special classes and tastings are planned in the near future.
My last meal here was a Technicolor palate of colors and vivid flavors. The current menu offers such great starters as Primo Shrimp Quesadilla; Ceviche; Beet & Squash Tostada; Golden Calamari; and Mexican Caesar Salad with chicken, shrimp or steak. A Primo Sampler is available.
A specialty Taco menu includes Mole Rojo Short Rib Taco; Cauliflower Taco; and Catch Me If You Can with fried haddock.
Beautifully plated main courses include Birria Pizza with Oaxaca cheese, red onions, cilantro, jalapenos, birria consommé; tender Skirt Steak with salsa criolla, rice & salad or French fries; Grilled Branzino, green salsa, red salsa, pickled onion, tortillas; and Enchilada de Mole Poblano, spring onions, peanuts, sesame, rice & beans, served with 3 tortillas. A classic Smash Burger is also available.
Save room for such house made desserts as fresh Churros, Tres Leches, Sticky Toffee, or the El Primo Sundae, vanilla ice cream, bruleed plantains, dulce de leche, cinnamon sugar tortilla chips.
Brunch/lunch is served noon to 4 p.m. Dinner is served Monday-Sunday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Late Nite 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Primo Time Happy Hours 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday; Saturday-Sunday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring specially priced small plates and cocktails. There is an open-air Tiki Bar weather permitting.
