Monday  - October 11th 

One of the most effective ways to reduce your household food waste and lower your grocery bills is to plan your meals in advance.  The nice thing about taking a few minutes to do this is that it will make shopping easier while saving you time and money.

The best way to go about it is to plan what you will be making, starting with the foods you already have in the house and what needs to be used up first.  You will decide what you will make each day by matching meals with what you have.  An example would be, if you have leftover meatballs from the meatballs and spaghetti you had on Sunday night, use them on a pizza or in a meatball sub on Monday night.  But this only works if you know what you have, so below are 3 worksheets to help you keep track.


Download the worksheets and begin by inventorying what you have and then start to plan your meals for the week. You don’t have to plan all 7 days, even if you plan 3 or 4 right now you will be heading in the right direction. 


During the week we’ll be sharing tips to help you get more comfortable with planning and shopping.  This is when you can start really making a difference in reducing food waste!
