About:

Janet has been in the restaurant business in one form or another since she was sixteen.  Over the course of her career she has owned and operated three full service restaurants and a fish market.  She has also worked for Compass Group USA, the largest contract foodservice company in the world, as a director in one of the senior living facilities they managed. This  long-time restaurant owner now works as a consultant, columnist and Culinary Institute of American adjunct professor as well as owner and creator of Hudson Valley EATS, the ultimate online guide to where to dine and drink in the area.

Launched just a few months ago but already featuring hundreds of listings, Hudson Valley EATS is divided into four sections – articles, events, news and searchable directory, the latter of which is completely programmable and a signature platform that is really getting Irizarry and Hudson Valley EATS (HVEats) noticed.

On the “back end” of HVEats, she remains committed to furthering the education of her colleagues in the restaurant world, and with that in mind, she has also created "Back of the House” (BOH) of HVEats.   This new online source is for restaurateurs who want to up the ante with the latest in industry standards and practices. This unique resource includes an online directory of Hudson Valley suppliers and service providers to the restaurant industry as well as articles for running a successful business by industry experts.

Sheila DuPell - High Road Real Estate Services

Sheila DuPell concentrates on the mid-Hudson Valley (Northern Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties), draws on over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate leasing, sales, and business brokerage. 

 

Having represented many national restaurant chains and franchises, she is able to apply the same depth of knowledge on site selection to individual operators.  Sheila also specializes in the sale and/or acquisition of restaurants and food-related businesses and provides extensive knowledge on positioning these businesses for sale to maximize value. 

 

She has been responsible for the leasing and management program of a national property portfolio of over 3,000,000 square feet and is thus uniquely qualified in lease negotiations. 

Currently, she is a licensed New York State Real Estate Broker, as well as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Public Relations Society of America.  She has also served on the Board of Directors of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, New York City, Westchester County, and Fairfield County Chapter as both Vice President, Communications and Secretary.  Additionally, she is a member of Women in Retail Real Estate - Northeastern States

Dana T Malley  - Harvest Small Business Finance LLC

Dana T Malley has been helping business owners obtain commercial financing for over twenty-five years in the New York Metropolitan area. For the past ten years he has been the owner of specialty finance company SBFG, LLC. Dana recently join Harvest  Small Business Finance LLC.  He has an extensive background in government guaranteed lending, commercial mortgage lending, and equipment lending.

He previously worked for KeyBank as SR VP in government guaranteed lending. Prior to KeyBank, Dana was an entrepreneur owning an operating a Real Estate Franchise and a residential mortgage company.  He is a past board member of a Certified Development Company in Northern New Jersey, and has served on local community boards and nonprofits over his far-reaching career.

Being a past business owner, Dana understands what it means to own a business today, that allows him to assist almost any self-employed business owners with their commercial real estate needs, from the purchase of a building to cash-out refinancing. 

Chris O'Brien -  Experienced Multi-Unit Restaurant Operator

Chris cut teeth in restaurant industry beginning in 1976 in NYC with the  Ben Benson and Alan Stillman, the two original TGIF Friday’s founders. The two went on, with him in tow, to found Smith and Wolensky’s Steak Houses.

He owned  a restaurant in Aspen Colorado in the mid 1980’s, and hung around with John Denver.  He then went on to have a  small stint on Wall Street, later founded and sold a small company that distributed Snyder’s Pretzels in the Hudson Valley.  He has opened/designed/ or participated in opening 16 restaurants in his career that has taken him from Miami, NYC, Boston and the Coast of North Carolina, one of which one was declared the “best new restaurant on Coastal Carolina” by a number of publications.

 

Today Chris owns  Farm to Table Bistro located in Fishkill, where they stay true to their name by source most of the ingredients from local farmers and creameries and use as many local Hudson Valley purveyors as possible. The restaurant has received a "Very Good" by the New York Times.The promise they make to our customers is to provide them with the freshest ingredients that are seasonably available and do so by purchasing locally whenever possible. He is also currently working on a large project that is in developmental phase.

Lorenzo Angelino, Esq - Law Office of Lorenzo Angelino

Lorenzo L. Angelino, Esq. focuses on business law, liquor licensing and real estate law.  He has assisted numerous bars, restaurants, breweries and wineries with all of their liquor licensing and general business needs.  Lorenzo is a life-long resident of Dutchess County and a graduate of Albany Law School of Union University, he prides himself on handling his clients’ matters in a timely and cost-effective manner .

 

Providing countless hours to community-based volunteering in the Hudson Valley. He is the co-founder of the Foodstock Fund, which benefits the Food-based charities and the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie with an annual charity events.   Lorenzo is also currently a professor and teaches in the areas of Business Law and Trusts and Estates. 

 

Lorenzo was admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut and N.Y. Federal District Courts. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Dutchess County Bar Association, the Hudson Valley Young Professionals, and the Southern Dutchess Referral Team BNI Chapter. Lorenzo was a recipient of the 2012 Top 40 Under 40 Award presented to 40 individuals under 40 years old in Dutchess County for their active role in the community and their profession.
