L.A.B Fest - Combining Live Art & Beer

May 14, 2019

Looking for something to do this weekend?  Why not mix art and beer at L.A.B. Fest 2019, an inspired partnership between the Hudson Valley’s most unique arts center and the best craft beer brewers in the Northeast.

This unique collaboration between GARNER Arts Center, Industrial Arts Brewing Company and the GARNER Historic District will feature immersive projections, live music, interactive and performance art, and samplings of the most delicious beer in the country.

This weekend-long event takes place in historic West Haverstraw, NY on the sprawling 14 acres of the GARNER Historic District, a unique venue on its own.  The GARNER Historic District is a reclaimed 19th century textile complex that has been transformed into one of the most compelling and creative art venues outside of New York City.

Explore the brick alleys, cavernous former factory spaces, and the twists and turns along a roaring creek; dive into the collective creative minds of regional, contemporary artists; drink some of the world’s tastiest beers.

“GARNER Arts Center is known throughout New York State for its fantastic annual Arts Festivals, housed in this spectacularly repurposed industrial landscape. Industrial Arts Brewing Company is known for delicious, multi award-winning beer. This is a merger of the best parts of both. Around every corner will be something special to see or hear and at every beer maker’s table, something special to taste,” explains Kris Burns, GARNER’s new Creative Director.

L.A.B. Fest visitors will be invited to sample beer from 40 world-class craft breweries as well as feast from a variety of food trucks showcasing the evolving Hudson Valley cuisine and brew culture. Acrobats, dancers and more will make for a day full of fun and fabulousness.

“This new Immersive Arts and Craft Beer Festival is being introduced at a strategic moment in the future of the GARNER Historic District which has recently secured the necessary approvals from the local government to welcome cafes/restaurants, boutique retail and the Industrial Arts Brewing Company, a big step towards our long term vision. The is the perfect way to kick off that exciting next phase”, said Robin Rosenberg, President and the founder of GARNER Arts Center.

The grounds of the GARNER Historic District will be pedestrian friendly for both days and only disabled parking will be on site. There will be free parking and shuttle service (including a handicap accessible shuttle) from close by designated L.A.B. Fest parking areas, including the Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital and North Rockland School District Administration and High School parking lots.

Free shuttle service will be provided by ferry from the Ossining Westerly Marina connecting to Metro North trains and by bus from the Suffern/New Jersey Transit train station in Rockland County.
