ABOUT THE EVENING
Nothing can make you feel warmer on a cold winter night then classic French food and Chef Denis Whitton's cooking style is steeped in French tradition.
Chef Whitton has a long resume of working in some of the best restaurants in New York City, where he honed his skills and grew a passion of French cuisine, farm to table ingredients and cooking wild game. He opened his first restaurant Harvest, in 2003. He now is owner of Pier 701 in Piermont and recently opened Autumn, a fine dining, French cuisine restaurant in Sparkill, New York.
Enjoy an evening in Paris with Chef Whitton as he shows us how to prepare a classic Coq a Vin with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Chef Whitton be joined by wine expert, Kat Cardinale, who will help you to pair the perfect wine for whatever you are cooking.
Kat’s love affair with wine began many years ago while working in the restaurant industry. She is a Rockland County native and has more than 20 years’ experience in hospitality, sales management and wine education.
She is the VP of Sales for Ackley Beverage Group; owner of Montinore Estate which is one of the largest producers of estate produced certified biodynamic wine in the country, Prior to her current roll, she was VP Sales for a fine wine wholesaler in New York and New Jersey. Managing the sales team for one of the top fine wine companies in New York gave her the opportunity to visit many of the world’s wonderful wine regions.
