The Chocolate Studio in Beacon

Valentine's Day might mean flowers and fancy meals for some. But for me, this holiday is synonymous with chocolate and all things sweet. This is where The Chocolate Studio in Beacon comes into play. It’s a wonderful little shop that always smells delicious!

Eight years ago, two sisters, Regina Furphy and Anne St. George, open the Chocolate Studio Main Street in Beacon. Growing up in an Italian family they had spent much time in the kitchen and it was from these childhood memories that their chocolate shop and their sweet treats are created.

First, let me start with what they are best known for, Gourmetibles, their signature creation.

What are Gourmetibles?

Gourmetibles are a cross between a cookie, toffee and candy—easier to enjoy than to explain! While the ingredients are minimal and simple, the result is far from boring.

They come in several flavors—my favorite is the "More Than S'Mores". It has the classic ingredients of a s’more (graham cracker base topped with milk chocolate and mini marshmallows) with a happy addition, their signature toffee. I like having it as an afternoon pick-me-up or in my car while I'm out grocery shopping. No campfire required to enjoy!

The original Gourmetible flavor that started it all is the "Way Out Walnut". Rich, semisweet chocolate is topped with walnuts and layered over toffee with a crispy cracker crunch.

Next up is the "Peanut Butter Pretzel". This one is exactly as it sounds with chocolate and toffee added to the mix. It always hits the spot when you can't decide if you're craving something salty or sweet.

Finally, there's "Peace O'Pecan" which can calm anybody's sweet tooth. There's no chocolate in this one but it is no less decadent. The butter crackers covered in toffee and pecans are probably my second favorite.

Yes, as you can tell, I am a big fan of the Gourmetibles but the Chocolate Studio also offers a large variety of Belgian chocolate bark by the pound, hand-made chocolate lollipops, chocolate covered strawberries (must pre-order and pick up on the day they are made), brownies, cookies, Moo Moo's ice cream, chocolate covered Oreos, Gluten-free peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies and other chocolate creations depending on what Anne is in the mood to make. And you bacon lovers don’t leave without a bit of their chocolate covered bacon. Trust me!

The vibe at the shop is always inviting. The Chocolate Studio also caters events and hosts an assortment of parties. For kids they offer chocolate parties where the kids dip and decorate goodies such as marshmallows, Oreos and pretzels as well as mold and decorate lollipops.

For adults they offer chocolate and wine and cake decorating parties. You can find information on their website.

No matter why you stop into the Chocolate Studio, one thing is for sure, you are guaranteed to leave with a smile. After all, who can resist smiling in a place where you are surrounded by chocolate?

The Chocolate Studio is geared up for Valentines Day and you will find the perfect gift for your sweetheart, so head on over.
